One Room Challenge Week 7: furniture and finishes

This week was a mix of emotions. I started with a pep talk (for myself!) to keep the negativity at bay. With the endless to-do list, the realization that I’m not as strong as I want to be, and the slow pace of progress, it’s easy to feel discouraged. If you’ve ever tried moving a queen mattress solo, you know what I mean—let's just say, I got my workout in!
But then came the wins, and wow, they were good ones. First up, the bathroom transformation! The "before" felt cramped and outdated, but the "after"—you’re going to love it! I’ll share those details next week, so stay tuned. I also scored some charming used furniture that brings so much character to the space. The bed frame, cozy bedding, nesting coffee tables (I even fixed a wobbly leg), and a leather couch were all thrifted or secondhand finds. They make the room feel both stylish and inviting.
Naming this apartment came together with a piece of pear art I painted and framed for the kitchen. After around 30 apartment makeovers, finding the right name for each one is a fun challenge.
Here's why I’m especially proud of this space: we worked on a shoestring budget, turned a non-existent kitchen into a functional small one, and Jud and I handled almost everything ourselves in just four weeks. The before and after reveal is (in my humble opinion) amazing. It’s already rented, and I’m so excited to see it in use! Next week, I'll share the final images.
And yes, onto the next apartment remodel!
