Hey, hey! Another week, another round of DIY magic! This week, I tackled two of my favorite projects that pack a punch without leaving you crying into your toolbox—peel and stick wallpaper and faux beams. Both are total game-changers if you’re looking to transform a room without a full-blown renovation meltdown. Let me give you the scoop on why I’m obsessed.
Peel & Stick Wallpaper: AKA My New BFF
Okay, I’ll admit it: I’m officially in a committed relationship with peel and stick wallpaper. And here’s why it’s my ride-or-die:
Done in a Day: Who’s got time for a week-long wallpaper fiasco? Not me. With peel and stick, I can knock out a wall in a day and be sitting pretty with my caffeine Diet Coke by dinner.
It’s Super Forgiving: Got it on crooked? No biggie—just peel it off and try again. It’s like the DIY version of hitting “undo,” and I am here for it.
Big Drama for Little $$: Listen, for the price, the impact is HUGE. You don’t need to spend a fortune to get a designer look, and I love that.
Faux Beams: Bringing the Rustic Vibes
Now, let’s talk faux beams. You know, those rustic beauties that make a room look like it belongs in a cozy cabin without actually, you know, moving to a cabin? These are super easy to pull off, and they look amazing.
What You Need:
A chop saw (because power tools = power moves)
Measuring tape (duh)
A ladder (obviously)
Brad nail gun (let’s be real—this is the fun part)
Material Hack: We used cull lumber from a mill, but if you’re not near one, plywood cut to size works just as well. Or you could install a real beam, but those are super heavy. But amazing!
So Easy, It’s Silly: Measure, cut, nail it up. Bam! Instant character boost. The hardest part is stepping back and pretending you didn’t just casually make your ceiling fabulous.
What’s Next: Bring on the Cabinets!
Now, here’s what’s got me REALLY pumped—next week we’re diving into cabinet installations! We’re talking countertops, hardware, the works. Basically, it’s gonna be the cherry on top of this project, and I can’t wait to see it all come together. Stay tuned for the action!
