Welcome back to Week 2 of my One Room Challenge journey! Last week, we prepped the space—clearing out the furniture and fixtures, and deep cleaned the apartment to get it ready for painting. Everything was going according to plan... until our trusty 20-year-old paint sprayer decided to call it quits right as we were about to get started!
Paint Sprayer Drama
Of all the things that could happen mid-project, I wasn’t expecting a paint sprayer meltdown. Our old, reliable sprayer has seen us through many projects, but after two decades, it finally gave up. With painting on the schedule and no time to waste, we made an unexpected trip to the store to buy a new one. Not exactly budget-friendly, but definitely necessary!
Painting Fun (and Fails!)
Once we got back on track, we started painting, and wow, what a difference! The room instantly felt cleaner, brighter, and, let’s be honest, it smelled a whole lot better. We shared quite a few laughs during the process, too. Despite wearing safety gear, we somehow managed to get paint everywhere—including up our noses and in our ears. Painting

made a huge transformation to the space. It’s amazing how a fresh coat of paint can breathe new life into a room. The space feels more open and inviting, which has me even more excited for what’s to come.
Looking Ahead to Week 3

Next up: flooring! If painting brought the room to life, the new flooring will be what truly makes it shine. Flooring is such a game-changer—it really gives a room a polished look. It always makes me feel like the finish line is in sight, but in reality, there’s still a lot of work left to do. I’m looking forward to sharing that transformation with you next week!
Stay tuned for more updates and laughs as we take on Week 3. This challenge may have thrown some curveballs already, but we’re still going strong and can’t wait to see the final results!
